Position Title: Migration Health Nurse

Reference Code: CFCV-01/2022/S - BD1 

Duty Station: Sylhet - Bangladesh Estimated Starting

Date:As soon as possible

Classification: UG-99

Division/Unit: Migration Health Department 

Type of Appointment: Special Short Term/UG

(Initially for 06 Months)


Under and the direct supervision of Migration Health Physician and overall supervision of the Chief

Migration Health Officer (CMHO) and the Chief of Mission (CoM), the successful candidate will be

responsible for assisting in the day to day implementation of migration health assessment programme of

the Office.


Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

1. Explain medical procedures to the migrants paying special attention to radiology and laboratory
testing including serology.
2. Interview female applicants with possible pregnancy. Perform rapid tests for pregnancy and
register the results.
3. Assist in specimen collection paying special attention at correct identification of migrants, labelling
of samples and reporting.
4. Assist Migration Health Physician in conducting health assessment including history taking,
measurement, treatment, immunization and collating medical reports.
5. Maintain safety procedure at sample collection site.
6. Make sure that the samples are transported to the laboratory in a proper manner.
7. Keep the register of applicants who undergo health investigations and testing.
8. Liaise with the laboratory, receive results and reports in a timely manner.
9. Accompany the applicants to the radiology and ensure the identity of the migrants undergoing Xray.
10. Manage the TB treatment - Directly Observed Treatment Short Course (DOTS).
11. Assist with registration, data entry and print out of documents.
12. Collect statistical information in a requested format and submit it to Migration Health Physician
13. Participating in field missions out of duty station where required.
14. Perform such other duties that may be assigned by the Chief of Mission and CMHO


Education, Experience and Skills

  • • Diploma in Nursing from an accredited academic institution
  • • At least three (3) years’ experience in relevant field.
  • • Previous experience in international organization is an advantage

Staff members selected for a VN/SVN in his or her same category at one grade higher than his or her personal
grade shall be appointed at the advertised grade. A staff member selected for a VN/SVN to a position which is
two grades higher than the staff member’s current grade, will be appointed at the interim grade, and six
months later at the higher grade.
