Project Name - “Protection and Education in Emergencies for Children and Their Caregivers Rohingya Refugees and Host Communities in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh”

 

Purpose

The Project Officer-Protection, under the supervision of Project Manager is responsible for implementation and monitoring of progress and guaranteeing the quality standards of “Protection and Education in Emergencies for Children and Their Caregivers Rohingya Refugees and Host Communities in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh”.

S/he works closely with partners in project implementation, giving support to project field team and to ensure the quality of deliverables for better impact in the camps on protection including child protection, gender mainstreaming and education. 

Engagement

The Project Officer-Protection will be responsible for implementing the “Protection and Education in Emergencies for Children and Their Caregivers Rohingya Refugees and Host Communities in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh” project plan and providing support in the implementation. The Project Officer-Protection will also act as a coordination point for community Engagement. Responsible for working closely with partners and ensure effective implementation.  S/he will represent protection including child protection, gender mainstreaming and education component at camp and host community level, amongst humanitarian actors and in the community. S/he is expected to support on sectoral assessment, project planning and coordination. In most circumstances, the post holder will be expected to mentor and/or build capacity of implementing partners on the field.

Delivery

Contribute to develop detailed implementation plan (DIP) and is responsible for implementing project activities with the partners.

Monitor the project activities, provide technical support for child protection, gender mainstreaming and education and liaison with other service providers in the Camp and host community level.

Prepare different periodic (monthly, quarterly) progress reports, event reports, case studies/ good practice and submit to the Project Manager, Cox’s Bazar.

Ensure capacity building to the team with working and providing training and/ or mentoring.

Supervise Educo supported learning facilities, multipurpose center and community level activities.

Develop modules on protection including child protection; collect and document necessary information and data for reporting.

Coordinate and participate in different meetings, orientations and workshops organized by Protection and Education sector.

Purpose

The Project Manager, under the supervision of the Head of Humanitarian Response, CXB will be responsible for the day-to-day implementation of project implementation, will work closely  with program and support staff including finance, administration to ensure the intervensions are implemented according to schedule, budget, and required quality, S/he will

• Ensure humanitarian projects personnel understand and carry out their duties in accordance with humanitarian principles, core values and the Code of Conduct.
• Take the lead in the project implementation that is adapted with the needs of the stakeholders, coherent with the Program Framework and defined standards of quality
• Ensure relevance, efficiency and positive impact in the lives of the targeted community

Engagement

• Lead and manage multi project team in Cox’s Bazar
• Coordinate with implementing PNGOs
• Liaise with Government officials (CIC, RRRC, DC, UNO and others relevant sectors)
• Coordinate CO HR, finance, Administration, and resource mobilization team

Delivery

• Manage and motivate project staffs and ensure their deliverables are being accomplished within the stipulated time frame.
• Ensure the activity plan as per project target and follow-up the progress and process of activity implementation.
• Ensure accuracy in the delivery of projects operations along with financial execution.
• Provide necessary technical inputs on project designing, proposal development, project planning and budgeting.
• Ensure monthly, quarterly and final reports and provide necessary feedback to ensure quality
• Enhance capacity of the external partners and Educo internal staff
• Ensure Educo’s policies, procedures are respected, and donors’ requirements are being fulfilled accordingly.
• Organize staff’s coordination meeting and represent in different coordination meetings
• Assess effectiveness of project/program, systems and procedures and recommend improvements.
